While it may not be easy for authors to gain their standing as a famous writer who is taken seriously at a very young age, it is impressive to see the opportunities they have in their hands today. With the Era of blogging, twittering and the internet, these youngsters challenge themselves do almost anything and something Different.
There is nothing relatively new about a young author. The whole industry seems to be full of them – all up and coming artists with fresh ideas and voices that want to be heard. Today, much of the written work of a growing crop of budding youngsters see the light of day and even before they have graduated from school, they stand upright in the shoes of a published author. This is, of course, all thanks to self and paid publishing, which has given young creative minds the luxury and privilege to see their work printed in paperbacks and showcased on the racks in bookstores and Kindle.
What prompted Neeha?
Neeha Gupta a Mumbai School student, has been a voracious reader and the desire to pin down her thoughts and let her imagination wild started through blogging when she was in grade 7th. An IDEA in her grade 9th about how an Alien would adjust to High School prompted her to write a Novel and which she realized was far-reaching and thrilling.
Any kid would get a kick out of an amazing IDEA like this. Neeha was far too excited about getting it all started. Manuscripting bit by bit as and when ideas flashed and developing these ideas with a daily word limit is what she diligently followed.

How does one Publish?
Many are unaware of how to get their book published? There are publishers like The Write Place a paid publishing wing of Crosswords, Rupa Publishers, Scholastic India and through creative writing competitions.
Charity Begins at Home and this is where she learned to give and share even as a little child. Neeha decided to donate all the proceeds to the Nobel Peace Prize winner’s Sir Kailash Satyarthi's Children's Foundation. She is proud to be a brand ambassador of via the 100 million for 100 million campaign. She is quick to comment that, A habit of giving and helping or volunteering must be inculcated in every child.
Right now its all about focusing on her 10th boards. Neeha is really not thinking of writing another Novel so soon but when she met Mr. Shashi Tharoor, he told her she must continue to write since she has the talent. Of course, if she comes across another super idea and finds time to do that she will certainly do so. Neeha has also got a few medals in the Pistol Shooting under her belt and is aiming at a medal at the Olympics.
New Gen X children are multi-talented and it is admirable to see how they are fearlessly driven by passion and follow their goals and dreams. This seems the right approach towards life where they are smart to equip themselves with more than just a college degree.
