Swimming rising star continues to work towards her big fat dream of an olympic medal.
Sometimes hobbies turn into dreams and dreams into passion. Already having mastered all four types of established competitive swimming, making her way to the top is Ananya Bisht.
Ananya turned 13 with 150 medals and 20 trophies already in her kitty. Swimming has always been a part of her life, ever since she was a little girl. Parents sensed a little champ in their child and rightly so.
No substitute for hard work
Champions may be born with talent but certainly are made with a lot of dedication, hard work, and practice and that's how she has tasted success. This teen without fail no matter how cold it is or how hot; she is in the waters at 5:15 a.m. in the morning and back again at 3:40 p.m. It's evident why she is a champ today. In the Covid times it's about indoor exercises in the garden, yoga, meditation, that keeps her fit..
Dad the Super Hero.
Ananya's Dad Sanjay Bisht ducked her into the water at 2 and she was petrified but then her Super Hero knew she would take to water like a fish. Her Hero father turned into a coach and proudly says that she follows every instruction of his to the T...All her success Ananya credits to her father and ...of course, Mom who plays a silent role in the family chalks out her schedules, diets, studies etc., and...friends indeed play a vital role in cheering and giving her the much-needed party-time and motivation...support from her school one can never forget...
Ananya asserts "Swimming is one of the best activities as every part of the body gets exercised". While other students struggle to cope with just studies, this little water teen is as cool as a cucumber. Ananya is omnipresent - she is monitoring her class, she is debating, she is captaining her house, she is singing, dancing .....And coyishly says - there is no activity that she doesn't enjoy...
World Championships ??
Ananya is a champ in all four of these forms Butterfly, breaststroke, backstroke, and freestyle, but her favorite style is freestyle. After winning so many state and national medals, Ananya is clearly aspiring to cross the borders and one day stand on the podium and sing along our great national anthem and make herself and everyone proud.
A 15 times swimming Olympian gold medalist and World Champion Katie Ledecky is someone she admires and draws inspiration from. Ananya concludes with a wise piece of advice from her idol Katie Ledecky ". “I would encourage you to set really high goals. Set goals that, when you set them, you think they’re impossible". With so much passion and a clear cut vision, this kid will make all us Indians proud on the international circuit sooner than later...
